Worldwide LTE Subscribers Hit 130 Million in November 2013 as Top 3 Operators Account for 57% of Total Subscribers: MIC

America remains the biggest LTE subscriber market.

According to MIC Worldwide Mobile Subscriber database, worldwide LTE subscribers reached the 130-million milestone in 3Q 2013. There are 204 operators in 93 countries with LTE networks up and running, according to Taiwan's MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute), an ICT industry research institute based in Taipei.

Highlights of MIC Worldwide Mobile Subscriber database’s latest LTE research findings include:

Europe:

  • 75 commercial LTE networks deployed in 39 countries.
  • More than 5.5 million LTE subscribers (November 2013)
  • UK EE’s subscribers exceeded 1 million and reached 1.18 million in September 2013

America:

  • 47 commercial LTE networks deployed in 17 countries.
  • 67.8 million LTE subscribers with 51.7% of worldwide share. (November 2013)
  • Verizon’s LTE subscriber surpassed 36 million and AT&T’s reached 21.2 million in 3Q 2013.

Asia:

  • 42 commercial LTE networks deployed in 23 countries.
  • 53.2 million LTE subscribers with 40.5% of worldwide share. (November 2013)
  • LTE subscribers in Japan exceeded 23 million while Korea’s hit 26 million in 3Q 2013.
